793 animals were gone out to/transported to emergency care, in Wales, England & Scotland, during 2025…
*(‘Gone out for’ is when Drivers have gone out to an animal that has passed away - or not been contained properly, despite instructions, and has escaped/been predated - just before they got there, which is about 1% of our number).

Where it says ‘exact species unknown’ - those are cases when a Wildlife Rescue would request a pick up from a member of the public without giving us the full info on the bird species, during exceptionally busy times of the year. It may have been because the the bird was very young and not easy to identify until they had arrived at the Rescue or the Finder wasn’t great at describing the bird, so we knew enough to know which carrier to use (large or small) but we never got updated on the exact species, after the bird had been dropped off.

AND...
UKWT operates by providing Drivers Teams to Wildlife Rescues & Vet Practices. Rescues/Practices get their own Whatsapp groups, with myself in, the Drivers who want to support them in, and someone(s) from the Rescue/Practice. Transport requests are popped into the Whatsapp groups and I oversee them all to make sure that transports are filled ASAP and run smoothly. [Each 'UKWT Drivers Team' represents a chunk of the transport gaps in the UK filled, so that wildlife casualties/orphans found by people who can't transport themselves - or wildlife dropped into Vet Practices - can ALWAYS get to emergency/ongoing care &, hopefully, a second chance at a new wild life.] We started 2025 with 35 Drivers Teams & ended with 51. (Already in 2026, we're now in the process of setting up our 52nd Drivers Team, for the Full Of Joy Wildlife Rescue). Find out full info HERE.

We passed the milestone of 1000 animals transported by UKWT (ever) this year AND then, only a short while later, we passed the milestone of 1300 animals transported by us, to emergency care, since we opened in August 2020. (Here's just a few pics of animals helped. You can check out more info on our TRANSPORTS page).
