AN IMPORTANT EXAMPLE, I THINK...

These 2 precious feathery people were picked up yesterday evening, by the wonderful UKWT Driver, Catherine, from Henlow Vet Group, and transported to Emily, from RSPCA Oak & Furrows, for ongoing care.

I can't speak highly enough of Henlow Vet Group: they let us bring the Pigeon to them on the evening of the 20th May, from a member of the public, after a Crow attacked the bird. They cared for the bird throughout the night with pain relief, antibiotics & feeding. Yesterday they paid for eye drops for the Pigeon themselves (out of a special account they have, with funds for wildlife) to travel with the bird yesterday evening, for its ongoing care.

They also took in this Juvenile Crow yesterday afternoon, found being kicked around by children.

To me, the care of these birds (and especially the Pigeon) provides an example of a community of humans working together, recognising that these birds are unique individuals, as deserving as anyone else of help, when life is proving difficult. Because their innate worth is recognised, they're being given all the expert care possible, to give them a second chance.
