Are You A UK Vet Practice?

DO YOU HAVE WILDLIFE CASUALTIES DROPPED OFF TO YOU?

If you would like help getting wildlife casualties (dropped into you by members of the public) transported (after assessment) onto your nearest Wildlife Rescue, UKWT can recruit, equip and fund local Volunteer Drivers, to go onto your personal Drivers List, for you to contact to ask them to transport.

- If you would like help getting wildlife casualties (that have been dropped off to you by Rescues, for treatment) back to the Wildlife Rescue, UKWT can recruit, equip and fund local Volunteer Drivers, to go onto your personal Drivers List, for you to contact to ask them to transport.

ARE YOU A VET PRACTICE WHO HAS USED UK WILDLIFE TRANSPORTERS BEFORE?

So...  Instead of you phoning us (and often having to wait ages because you are 5th or 6th in the queue) you will instead soon be sent - by UKWT - your own list of Volunteer Drivers (who all have carriers and towels and disinfectant already) who have pre-agreed to pick up wildlife casualties from you and who have their fuel funded by UKWT (so no cost to you at all).

WHETHER YOU HAVE USED US BEFORE OR NOT - AS A VET PRACTICE - HERE'S WHAT HAPPENS...

HOW DO YOU GET YOUR LIST OF DRIVERS?  -  You just need to sign a GDPR form agreeing to not share the Driver info (registration plate, phone number, name and post code) with anyone outside of the practice - without the Driver's express permission - and then arrange with UKWT on how best to have the list set up: EG. Do you want an updated list emailed over once a month or would you like them on an online database that we can both access, etc, that is constantly updated?

WHICH WILDLIFE RESCUES WILL YOUR WILDLIFE CASUALTIES BE TRANSPORTED TO?

At UKWT we take wildlife welfare VERY seriously so we currently only transport to Wildlife Rescues who have a vet report of the premises (that has been sent to us) or that we know have vets visiting regularly or have vets on site.

As the self regulation scheme for Wildlife Rescues & Rehabbers - the Wildlife Care Badge - grows in number, we will soon (as early as October 2022) only be transporting to Wildlife Rescues/Rehabbers who have the WCB accreditation (or very large centres).

Any questions or if you would like your own list of Volunteer Drivers, please email Alana at alana@ukwildlifetransporters.org
