Mystery 'Wild Reveal' Knit-along
2.png
A 10 month 'mystery' knit-along...  A new pattern 'piece' given to you every month: putting the pieces together slowly reveals the kind of wildlife casualty/orphan that we often transport to emergency care (and by taking part in the knitalong, you're funding us getting them to emergency care in 2026).

It's a 10 month bit of wildlife helping, knitting community fun...

  • It's just £10 a month for ten months (March - December 2026).

  • Join before 1st March 2026.

  • You'll get your first Pattern 'Piece' on 3rd March.

  • You'll get the next 9 Pattern 'Pieces' on the 3rd of each new month.

  • By Christmas, you'll have completed & revealed to yourself the knitted landscape of a wild creature, living wild & free (and you'll have funded up to 1500 wildlife casualties / orphans getting to the emergency care - at Wildlife Rescues - that they needed, to go on to live wild & free again).

[See below for full details].

"You’ll be sitting there with your knitting needles, and every stitch will be saving lives...”

*On a personal note: I (Alana, UKWT Founder) only started knitting a couple of years ago but it's helped me SO much with running UKWT and finding ways to be calmer & more grounded when I've felt very under pressure. I think that this 'knitalong' could be a wonderful way to do something that not only brings participants a sense of well being but also enables future well being for wildlife in trouble.

'For people like me.'
On 3rd of each month you get emailed (or WhatsApped, whichever you prefer) a new pattern for a square, with part of the 'wild & free' design on it.

[The patterns will be at beginner level but more advanced knitters can choose to switch colours for the PURL stitches - We can give some hints, on request, one to one, on what colours you might want to use to bring your landscape to life.]

* Some extra 'community' options to make this knitalong more fun for those who want them...

  • Those who would like to, can go into a WhatsApp Group, from March to December, to share your squares - and the various yarns & colours you're using - as the months go on & to share pics of your finished 'decorative piece' at the end!

  • Those who would like to, can knit at least part of your monthly square in an online - on zoom - 'knit & natter' group where I (Alana, Founder of UKWT) will be knitting our 'mystery squares' along with you and where I can also answer questions on the animals you've helped to emergency care that month.  These would be held on the second Sunday evening of every month, March to December 2026, from 19:30 - 21:30.

* WIN KNITTING SUPPLIES: Each & every month, 'knitalong' knitters will also go into a FREE raffle to win £25 of the knitting supplies & accessories of YOUR choice, to make it even MORE fun to keep knitting along!
And...

* FIND OUT ABOUT THE ANIMALS YOU'VE HELPED: Each & every month, you'll all also get an update emailed over on which ACTUAL wildlife you've funded getting to emergency care, by joining in this 'wild' knitalong (and the difference you've made to those wild lives).  Last year we transported almost 800 animals. We're expecting that to be almost doubled this year.  See all of the wild creatures we've helped so far HERE.

1300 Animals Milestone....png

At the end of the year, by Christmas Day, you will have knitted 10 squares - 45 cast on stitches by 63 rows, per square - to make up a '2026' table runner: together, all of the squares will add up to a, slowly revealed, picture of a wild creature (maybe more than one!) living wild & free.

[And we're so busy this year - which is why we're running this knitalong - that you will have funded up to 1500 actual UK wild creatures taken to emergency care (& hopefully a second chance) in 2026 alone, to live wild & free again, as they deserve.]

* And, by Christmas, 10 lucky knitalong winners will also have won new knitting supplies too, through our monthly raffles.

* If this 'mystery wildlife loving knitalong' proves popular, we will repeat it every year, with new landscapes each time of wildlife living wild & free, to make into a set for the home.

Here's some examples (NOT the real design!) of the kind of table runner pattern you could have created, for your home, by Christmas.
