Our Transport Conditions...

It's really important that we transport in high welfare conditions & that the animal comes first...
Our Drivers get a brief glimpse of an animal when they pick up and a brief glimpse when they drop off but are otherwise expected to be very hands off, to provide as stress free an environment as possible for the wildlife we transport.
Depending on age / size / injuries, the set up inside each carrier can be different but the basics are always the same. You can see some of our Drivers guidance below...
"At NO point are you to pet the animal(s) that you're transporting: they are wild creatures whom consider humans only another large predator. To interact with them at all causes only unnecessary stress & suffering & actually decreases their chances of survival. The best & kindest action to take is to cover the carrier with a towel ASAP in the car and ignore them until the Rescue or Vet Practice staff/volunteers are removing them from the carrier.
In the vehicle: secure all carriers on a seat with a big towel/blanket over the top, so that it's dark inside the carrier, and secure with a seatbelt. Room temperature in car (unless told by the Vet or Rescue to set a different temperature, we will help you to always check first).
Please don’t play music or smoke when driving: it must be silent in the car please, with the windows closed."
