What UKWT means to me, personally:
The point of it all...

Honestly, sometimes my days just feel full of spreadsheets, 'X number of animals', WhatsApp messages, calls & organising and it's so easy to forget what it's all for: the little lives who are the focus of it all.
Then, last month, I got to find out that this little baby Crow, who was found being kicked around by children and who had a fractured leg because of it, was able to be successfully rehabbed & released back into the wild, with a new Corvid family.
It feels especially brilliant to know that a youngster who suffered unnecessary human cruelty, got the care they needed and has been released as a strong, healthy adult, able to make the most of life in the wild again. I hope they're causing complete havoc 😅
For me, it turned a very sad case, into a triumphant one.
I feel so lucky that UKWT gets to work with Vet Practices like Henlow Vets who first took the young Crow in and who did what they could to help them, and Emily at RSPCA Oak & Furrows, who provided the initial, dedicated one to one care (and then the more general, ongoing care) to help the feathery person recover.
And thank you to the Driver, Catherine, who drove this youngster 2 1/2hrs from the Vets to Emily, to give them that second chance.
Well done all!
