Exciting Driver News...
UKWT Driver IDs!
With what I hope is now a very solid foundation to run off, and a UK wide Driver Database of almost 300 Drivers - which we want to almost double to 500, before Spring 2026 - it's now time to formalise our Drivers' experiences when picking up/dropping off wildlife casualties & orphans, from & to members of the public, Wildlife Rescues & Vet Practices, by each Driver wearing a UKWT ID.
These are nothing too technical & don't carry personal information: they're simply a lanyard & plastic pouch, with a 'UKWT Volunteer Driver' representation in it.
They're not too expensive. In an ideal world these would be a cost that UKWT would fund, to give IDs to Drivers. However - I have learnt from experience - we do lose about 5% of Drivers very soon within signing up, as they realise very quickly that it's not for them. (This is standard for any voluntary organisation). If we funded Driver IDs for Drivers who quickly left us - who were then hard to get the ID back from - it would become £100s that we could be losing, which I can't justify. So...
With packing & postage included, each ID comes under £2 per Driver. *If/when a Driver steps down, they can sell also sell their ID, should they choose to, to a new Driver who is just joining up. [UKWT will help to organise this for them.]

The cost breakdown is:

-
Plastic pouches & lanyards: 52p each.

-
Cards (standard business card): 12p per card.

-
IN TOTAL: Per ID Card & Pouch/Lanyard = 64p.

-
Padded envelope: 22p.

-
Postage: up to £1.

-
TOTAL: £1.86 (I’ve increased it to ‘up to £2’ in case the postage is estimated too low).

The plan:

I’ll wait until everyone has said that they’re happy (especially with Drivers paying £2 for it) and then I will start inviting bank transfers of the £2s each. I will also fundraise separately to help me to fund the materials (cards/pouches/envelopes) as I have budgeted for 500 ID cards, as that's how many Drivers UKWT expects to have by Spring.
What do you think?

UKWT T-Shirts (& Child 'Colour In' T-Shirts) For Drivers
These are voluntary (no Driver HAS to purchase one). The idea for these T-Shirts came from a Driver herself, who kindly offered to make them. They have been launched to unite & celebrate the UKWT Community...

Thank you SO much for being a UKWT Driver.

Below are 3 buttons to the new T-Shirts that one of our Drivers, the wonderful Audrey, is making for any Driver who wants one.

THINGS TO KNOW...
-
There's a button for the Child T-Shirts, a button for the Adult T-Shirts and finally a button (I am adding this because some have asked for it) to add a donation on top if you want to.

-
[The T-Shirts are all currently at cost price. They are to unite & celebrate the UKWT Driver Community: UKWT doesn't profit from them at the price they're currently set at].

-
The Child T-Shirts are set at £8 (including P&P). The Adult T-Shirts are set at £11 (including P&P).

-
[I've added 'DONATION' just because Drivers requested that I add the option. There is NO pressure to use it at all. You do more than enough!]

If you click on the different buttons (eg. you choose a Child's T-Shirt & an Adult T-Shirt) and 'Add Items To Cart' you should end up with all of your chosen items in the same cart to then just process shipping/payment.
