'Wildlife Care Effort' May/June 2023 Fundraiser

BACKGROUND INFO

After transporting almost 600 casualties/orphans in our first (almost) 2 years, we have upgraded our whole structure - find out more HERE - to be able to serve 3000 wildlife casualties/orphans a month (minimum) this year and our five year goal is to be set up to be able to play our part in helping around 1,000,000 wildlife casualties/orphans a year from 2028 (no wild life left without care). *

Once we have funded and established ourselves during 2023, we have an ongoing plan to help us to keep funding staff and growing from 2024 onwards, so that we can play our part to support around 1 million wild lives a year by 2028...

I have worked for weeks on this proposal/plan of action.

I have created various ways to fund this work (I think you'll approve of them)...

This May/June I am fundraising £30,000 upfront to fund new staff & running costs throughout the rest of 2023.

Money’s just money - it’s what you do with it that counts.

My name's Alana, I founded and run UKWT.  I am raising this money to invest in support (logistical and transport) for our UK wildlife to play our part in saving/serving 10,000s of wildlife casualties/orphans during 2023...

----

Why is funding staff important?  Why isn't it a waste of money (that could go on fuel or equipment)?

The demand for our services has grown so much that we can't meet it on a volunteer basis anymore: in order to help 10,000s of wild lives this year, I need to hire the staff to commit the proper hours to offer reliable, efficient LOGISTICAL & TRANSPORT services to Vet Practices & Wildlife Rehabbers (to whom I have promised help) to help them to help wildlife...

The full Proposal/Presentation for our 2023 plans (and our plans up 2028, when we hope to be supporting the saving of around 1 million wild lives a year) is 32 pages long and very detailed.

This is no quick dream: it's a very serious, meticulously thought out commitment to helping our UK wildlife.

----

Right now I am gathering support...  If you click on the button above it will take you to a google form where you can let me know which of our devised funding schemes/channels (check them out below) you would be keen to benefit from/donate to.

----

When enough people have filled in the form, to commit to various forms of funding (enabling us to raise £30,000 before July 2023) I will email everyone who has filled in the form and ask them to either pay for their chosen services/products or make the promised donations.

Fingers and toes crossed that, through this method of gathering support around our work, we can successfully fund our efforts and make a huge difference...

'WILDSCAPING OUR WORLD HANDBOOK(S)'

The Wildscaping Worldwide Organisation has published one 'Wild Handbook' and is soon to launch a second. The income from sales of these books will be donated from WW to fund our new staff roles & our running costs.

Obviously, each person can only buy one Handbook, so please let your friends, family and work colleagues know about us, in case they want to help us by getting a little wild too!

DONATE/SPONSOR A STAFF HOUR

Our work is incredibly important and - whilst we don't want to JUST ask for donations - we do want to invite support from anyone who believes in our work and would just like to support our efforts. For anyone who donates to support staff & running costs, there will be a monthly newsletter letting you know what we are achieving with your support.

'WILDLIFE FIRST AID OFFICER' ONLINE COURSE

Wildlife casualties need help urgently when found and it's surprising how many people find a wildlife casualty on the way to work or even on the work place premises itself.

Equally...  At least half of the calls to Wildlife Rescues about poorly/orphaned wildlife casualties are from people who have found these animals in their garden and need urgent advice on how to help them.

Having an allocated 'Wildlife First Aid Officer' in your work place or at home (as well as the right equipment and a bespoke list of your nearest Wildlife Rescues & Vet Practices) ensures that you're set up to know exactly how to help a wildlife casualty.  You will be able to help them within minutes (instead of it sometimes taking days to find help) minimising any disruption to your day as well as giving you the best chance to save that furry/feathery/spiky life.

This online 1hr group course (for a fee of £30 for any companies or home owners/renters who want to attend) runs every Wednesday evening at 19:00. (The income from these courses will be donated from WW to fund our new staff roles & our running costs).

GAMES FESTIVAL

Come and play our FREE back-to-front raffle that will (even though it doesn't cost you a penny) fund our work.

Our 'Wild Winnings Extravaganza' is so different, so unique and so smart that no one has ever launched any funding scheme like it before.

As our Games Festival grows, during May/June (until we have all the sponsors we need!) we are creating a funding source of almost £5000 a month for UKWT, now & ongoing.

This Games Festival WILL be our foundational funding platform, starting now and hopefully for many years to come, from which to reliably grow and make sure that 'no wild life is left without care.'

JOIN THE 'WILD MONEY POT SCHEME'

A collaborative way of making money for our staffing & running costs whilst also generating grant money to help you to all wild up spaces.

INCOME PLAN

[This is soon to be revealed - it's such a big idea that it might even supersede all of our other funding plans combined. It might also fund land to wild up & protect, as well as funding our staff.

We need to be on a more solid footing (making sure we have reliable ways to provide Drivers teams to Practices/Rescues within a predicted time frame especially) before we can launch this plan though so we need to fund a couple of months of work/driver recruitment before we can launch this bespoke income scheme.]

MORE NEWS SOON

WILDSCAPE OUR HOMES GROUP ONLINE COURSE

The Wildscaping Worldwide Organisation can help you to wildscape your home (whether that's owned or rented and a house or a flat) to better enable all of our planet to thrive (and to support all local wildlife).

It's only £50 per 'home' to attend the online course & a pdf copy of WW's Wild Handbook & worksheets are provided in advance.

The income from these courses (run every other Thursday evening) will be donated from WW to fund our new staff roles & our running costs.

* All of our work (described above) is very important BUT it's not more important than remembering that most of these wild casualties/orphans shouldn't have needed help in the first place.  The trouble and challenges that most of our UK wildlife experience are avoidable.

They are the result of habitat loss, lack of sustenance and water resources, litter, traffic, poison and more, all from human impact.

I have created 8 'Funding Schemes/Channels' - see above - to bring in the revenue we need.  Apart from one of the schemes, all of the others enable us to fund our work WHILE also wilding up our planet, so that the local environments support wildlife more and wildlife need a lot less help.
