18th March: helping wildlife behind the scenes…
Soon, I’ll probably only have time to share about our ‘transports’ but, while I can, I want to share some more of our ‘being there, just in case’ efforts…
I got a Whatsapp message from a Rescue, on 18th March - who were stuck elsewhere & couldn’t jump on the job themselves - about some baby rodents who had been dropped into a Vet Practice (after a suspected cat attack) and I was asked to urgently contact the Vets to let them know that someone could transport them on to a Rescue, if they could just stabilise them.
I phoned the Vets straight away, in Cirencester, and they were already checking the babies over and then they warmed the little ones up, in advance on their onwards journey. (They were very cold when they went into the Practice). The Vets also passed on some antibiotics for the babies, to a Driver from the Rescue (they didn’t need UKWT to transport on this occasion). The Rescue sent us over some funds and I phoned the Practice back that same afternoon, to pay for the antibiotics over the phone, because the Rescue weren't able to phone themselves that day.
Every tiny life counts. ❤️
