Without the Wildlife Care Badge, UKWT would have closed in 2021, when I discovered how unregulated the Wildlife Rescue industry was, without UKWT being open even a year…
[Find out more as to why, HERE.]
Without the WCB, UKWT wouldn’t be currently finding our way to fill all of the transport gaps in the UK, so that wildlife always get to emergency care. We wouldn’t be supporting Wildlife Rescues and - especially - Vet Practices, to take in and treat poorly/injured/orphaned wildlife.
I run the WCB & UKWT. I founded & project managed the WCB from 2021 to now, with the crucial expertise of Veterinary Experts & Wildlife Rescuers dictating ALL of the content & procedures, both in development and, after our launch in 2022, as constant consultants, ongoing.
The WCB is the ONLY current Wildlife Rescue map/database in the UK that features Wildlife Rescues who have proven standards of care. It’s only really getting started but it already provides the map from which UKWT can run.
It is around this structure that UKWT is slowly filling in the UK wide transport gaps to get wildlife to emergency care.
I got a lovely email from WCB Holder, Julie, this morning, on her new microscope that the WCB helped to fund...
This is one of the new rescues that UKWT has on our map that we are now providing transport to. Since September 2024, we have funded medications, vets bills, housing spaces and a lot more for 7 small rescues, helping them to help wildlife and also enabling the WCB to grow as a supportive community so that all of its Holders can stand up for wildlife rights to care, together. I am sharing a social media post with Julie's words and pics below...
